Morrone del Sannio

 

1022

If it is stuck us to the "Chronicle Cassinese" of the X century, it is discovered that the village was called "Civitas".
Therefore the first deposition written some existence of Morrone is of 1022.
It is not known if, during the Lombard domination, Morrone belonged to the contea of Montagano or to that of Larino
 

1053

The success restored in the battle of Civitate on the Sourness marks the beginning of the Norman conquests in the adriatic lands of the principato of Benevento. Goffredo, brother of Roberto the Guiscardo, attaches the Lombard contea of Larino and storms the castle of Murrone.
In 1061, Roberto, son of Goffredo comes proclaimed "first comiti De Loritello" (Rotello).

In this date, to the coming of the Aragonese domination, Morrone and castiglione passed in stronghold to Paolo of the Sangro. Quest'ultimo, like one between the greater fighting some period, participated in 1452 to the enterprise of the duke of Calabria against Florentine and Venetians losing the life.
 

1455

Carlo of Sangro was its successor for Morrone, anch'esso ebbe a life enlivened and to its death happened him Bernardino of Sangro, but these itself schierò in favor of Carlo VIII when come down in Italy, so, defeated Carlo, had been confiscated him all of the possessions.
